Sign Code Adopted 

On November 17, 2020 City Council approved adoption of the Sign Code update. The new code is effective as of January 1, 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my existing sign?    Existing legal signs may conform to the new code. If not, they will be considered legal nonconforming and may remain until there is a change to the sign or to the property. To understand when the sign would need to change see Section 502 of the proposed code. 

What are the rules for real estate or election signs?   Small temporary signs, like real estate or election signs will fall under one category of Small Yard Signs. Two small yard signs are allowed on a property at any time and each can be 6 square feet in area. For additional requirements, see Section 510.C.
