Summer 2026 High School Hockey

The Howelsen Ice Arena will be offering a youth hockey league in summer for all players either currently in high school or entering high school this fall. The final day to register is May 28. The first league game is Monday, June 1. 
 
 League Details:

  • Summer HS Hockey Game Schedule
  • 8 game season plus playoffs.
  • Games will be on Monday nights at 6:45pm and 8:15pm.
  • All players must be USA hockey certified, have previous hockey experience, and have their own equipment
  • 5 minute warm up and three 20-minute periods. Overtime will consist of a 3v3 sudden-death 5-minute period. 
  • Teams will be selected by league administrators in an effort to create the best parity possible.
  • Teams will have a rotating coach each week to assist with team communication, accessibility and fair play.
  • This is a coed non-checking league. Contact is fine but any blatant body checking penalty called will be assessed by program administrators in conference with the reporting officials and will potentially result in a one game suspension or more.
  • 1-2 officials will be assigned to each game. They will be instructed to manage the game according to the age classification and playing level. The only exception will be stricter enforcement of the body checking rule.
