This is a one-week residency by the Drepung Loseling monks at the library, Aug. 9-14, 2022. They will be creating a sand mandala in Library Hall over the course of the week, in addition to giving public talks inside the library, hosting a puja ceremony on the lawn outside Library Hall, and doing the traditional ceremony on the final day where they wipe away the mandala inside Library Hall and then the community follows them around the lawn, into the parking lot to send the sand down the river around sunset. We have done this before, 7 and 12 years ago. All events are free and open to the public.

Free legal clinic for parties who have no attorney, will be featured from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM on the SECOND TUESDAY of each month through your local Routt County Libraries. Volunteer attorneys will assist each clinic patron individually by telephone during regular clinic hours, to answer questions and explain the process and procedure for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims, veterans issues, and civil protection orders. Founded in 2017, Rise Steamboat is a donation-based fitness program, offering weekly circuit training workouts and other wellness classes. Each summer season, a collection of Steamboat area non-profit organizations are highlighted, receiving 100% of class donations. Since its inception, Rise Steamboat has nearly $50,000 for Steamboat Springs area non-profits.

Yoga on the Green is held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 – 10 am throughout the summer, weather permitting. Meet on the Green. Practicing on the Park Green is unlike any class you’ve ever taken. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, delicate gardens and serene pond, you’ll find the peace and stillness is unmatched in the Botanic Park. Please bring a mat or towel, water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Please walk, bike, or carpool to yoga whenever possible as we have limited parking. If you drive, you must park in designated Botanic Park parking spaces. Overflow parking exists on Ski Town Way.
