  5. Plant Willows with USFS in California Park

    September 25, 2021, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM @

    California Park

As a Yampa Valley Climate Crew (YVCC) volunteer, you can help restore First Creek in California Park by planting willows. California Park hosts a beautiful landscape that has been degraded over a century of grazing. The US Forest Service is teaming up with YVCC volunteers to plant willows along First Creek, which will stabilize the bank and provide habitat for native trout species. Because this project will take place over the course of two days, camping in California Park is encouraged for those who would like to work both days. More details, as well as future Climate Crew projects, can be found on our webpage.
