STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 12, 2026-Ahead of the President’s Day holiday—a reminder of the nation’s long tradition of civic participation—residents are invited to lean into their own civic duty during February’s Coffee with Council on Friday, February 20, from 8–9 am in the Paachihpi Community Room at City Hall (115 10th Street).
As the country reflects on the leaders who helped shape our democracy this holiday weekend, Coffee with Council offers a local, accessible way for community members to take part in that same democratic process. City Council is reinfusing this popular program for 2026, encouraging residents to show up, speak up, and stay engaged.
During Coffee with Council, attendees can enjoy a relaxed, presentation‑free hour of open conversation with available councilors. The goal is simple: a candid, caffeinated discussion about whatever is top of mind for residents. Councilors will be listening closely to understand community priorities, concerns, and ideas.
Launched more than a decade ago, Coffee with Council has become a cornerstone of community connection—an opportunity for residents and elected officials to meet face‑to‑face, exchange perspectives, and discuss current issues in a respectful, constructive environment. While viewpoints may differ, the shared commitment to dialogue continues to make the program successful.
Coffee with Council will be held on the third Friday of each month through May, before transitioning to the city’s summer engagement efforts at Mainstreet Steamboat’s Farmers Market beginning in early June.
As President’s Day reminds us of the importance of civic involvement, Coffee with Council offers a simple yet meaningful way to participate in shaping the community’s future—one cup at a time.
