[ARCHIVED] Spring Into Action at Routt County Clean Up Day

Routt County Clean Up NewsFlash

Steamboat Springs, Colorado-April 28, 2026-Grab your gloves and gather your crew—Routt County Clean Up Day is back on Saturday, May 16, inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and help freshen up the Yampa Valley from 8 am to noon.

“Spring has sprung and all the treasures that accumulate over the winter are emerging,” said Main Street Steamboat Executive Director Lisa Popovich. “Getting our hands dirty to make sure our community looks amazing provides a great feeling. Plus, it’s easy to see what you accomplished.”

Each spring, as the snow melts, winter debris comes into view. Clean Up Day is a chance to take pride in our surroundings, connect with neighbors, and help prepare the community for the busy summer season.

Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals, families, businesses, and neighborhood groups are all welcome. To sign up in advance, visit: https://volunteersignup.org/3YEWD

Participants should bring garden gloves, a reusable water bottle, and dress in layers for variable weather conditions.

Volunteers will meet at the Community Room in the Public Health & Human Services Building (135 6th Street) at the corner of 6th and Oak Streets to receive cleanup assignments from 8:00-9:30 am..

Organizations participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program can call 970-367-7160 for coordination details.

Routt County Clean Up Day is made possible through partnerships with Main Street Steamboat Springs, Routt County, City of Steamboat Springs, and Keep It Clean. Additional information is available at MainStreetSteamboat.com.
