[ARCHIVED] Coffee With Cops Heads to Dusky Grouse Coffee

Coffee with Cops Dusky Grouse NewsFlash

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 20, 2023-The Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) will mix in hot conversation with Dusky Grouse Coffee’s traditional offering of coffee, music, and community when the local gathering spot hosts Coffee with Cops on Wednesday, August 2.

“We share Dusky Grouse’s philosophy that every cup of coffee provides the opportunity to connect, inspire and encourage each of us,” said Police Chief Mark Beckett. “Coffee with Cops has the same ideals, and the event allows our officers to come together with the community for tasteful dialogue in an inclusive environment.”

Steamboat Springs Police Officers, Community Service Officers, and Animal Control Officers will be on hand for this fully caffeinated edition from 8:30am to 11:30am at Dusky Grouse Coffee (1585 Mid-Valley Drive, Unit 4), close to the Yampa River Core Trail.

Enjoy interacting with officers from the day shift while savoring a freshly brewed cup of coffee. In addition, get to know Chief Beckett and Commander Rich Brown as well as a several of the officers, detectives, and professional staff, who protect and serve our city everyday of the year.

Coffee with Cops is based on the police department’s daily briefings, which allows face to face interaction, sharing information and checking in with each other in a compressed time frame.

The program is designed to allow open, two-way dialogue between the community and the police department and our officers. Community members can ask questions and learn about the men and women who serve our community.

Most law enforcement contacts with the public occur during emergencies, or emotional situations. As one can understand, those situations are not the most effective time or way to build relationships.
