Adult Hockey Divisions of Play

Adult Hockey at Howelsen Ice Arena offers three year‑round divisions so players of all experience levels can enjoy the game in a safe, balanced environment. We encourage skaters to join the division that best fits their skill level and to embrace the spirit of recreational play.

A League
A fast, competitive division made up largely of former college and junior players. This is a non‑checking league for experienced skaters who know the game well.

B League
A lower‑competitive division with players ranging from high school to some college experience, including adults with several years of organized recreational play. This is also a non‑checking league with light team strategy.

C League
A division for novice to intermediate players, including those newer to the game or returning after time away. Higher‑level skaters may be asked to move up or adjust their play to keep the division appropriately paced.
