1. Colorado P.O.S.T. certified candidates OR

2. Candidates that are currently attending a Colorado POST certified Law Enforcement Academy OR

3. Out-of-state officers whose certification will transfer to Colorado POST OR

4. Non-Certified Candidates

  • High school diploma
  • Tobacco-free
  • Weight proportionate to height
  • Acceptable criminal and driving record
  • United States citizen


  • Hiring range is $53,000 - $75,000 annually depending on education and experience

Qualified applicants are evaluated through the use of:

  • Oral Board Review
  • Polygraph
  • Report Writing Exercise
  • Medical Exam
  • Psychological Evaluation
