Howelsen Hill has CLOSED for the 2018-2019 season

The Howelsen Hill Nordic Center will remain open and trails will be groomed intermittently through the end of March (conditions permitting).

During the season, tickets can be purchased at the concession stand, the Winter Sports Club office on the 2nd floor of the Howelsen Hill Lodge, and at the vending machine located inside the Fireplace Room on the first floor of the Howelsen Hill Lodge.

FAT TIRE BIKES (PDF)  Please read for rules and guidelines for Fat Tire Biking at Howelsen Hill Nordic Center.   Fat Tire Biking is NOT ALLOWED between 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday due to a higher volume of athletes training on the trails.

About Howelsen Hill Ski Area:

Howelsen Hill Ski Area is owned and operated by the City of Steamboat Springs and holds a unique place in the history of skiing. It has sent more skiers to international competition than any other area in North America. Come experience skiing history in the Yampa Valley!

Howelsen Hill boasts a remarkable heritage. It is Colorado’s oldest continuously operated ski area, since 1915, and has the largest and most complete natural ski jumping complex in North America. Howelsen has been the training ground for nearly 90 Olympians making over 150 Winter Olympic appearances, 22 members of the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame, and 13 members of the National Ski Hall of Fame.

Howelsen Hill has been acknowledged as a Pioneer Ski Resort by the International Skiing History Association and the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum and Hall of Fame.
