The Parks & Recreation Commission annually reviews requests for business on the Yampa River through the city as well as any proposed use changes from current outfitters.
New business interested in commercial operations must apply for a commercial use permit, which are typically reviews in early March. For a business already grandfathered into the Yampa River Management plan, new proposed use needs must be approved by the Commission (i.e. SUP, angling, rafting, etc.).
New businesses interested in applying for a commercial permit, should contact the city before the end of February with your request to operate. In addition, a detailed business/operating plan for your proposed use must be submitted.
Operating plans should include safety plans, daily numbers, times/areas of use, and should demonstrate understanding of commercial guidelines and Planning Department Codes, etc.
